- Do I have to register my tags?
Absolutely yes, only by registering your tags can you make sure that your lost valuables will find you. When you register tags and complete your subscription you will automatically be notified by SMS and email when a lost item is found and logged by the finder. Remember that you can update your registered tags and move tags to different items. But, always make sure that the item description matches the item that you have tagged.
- What happens if my subscription expires and I lose something?
If your subscription is not up to date, you will not be notified if a lost item is found. It is important to remember that Reward-if-found also cannot track lost items that don't have matching subscriptions. You will always be notified by SMS and email when a subscription needs to be renewed, and the website makes it easy for you to track all your subscriptions and make sure they are up to date.
- Are my details safe?
Because your safety is important to Reward-if-found your personal details are protected through an advanced web filter system. No personal details are provided when the finder logs your lost item and you have to make contact with the finder. Always remember to meet in public places, and take a friend!
- Do I have to pay the finder a nominal reward?
We believe that good deeds should always be rewarded and it is a good idea to show the finder your appreciation for finding your valuables. And remember some things simply can't be replaced; your little black book, that autographed cricket bat, the information on your laptop – so yes show your thanks!
- Can I enter both the monthly and annual draws?
If you have found an item and logged it via SMS or the website, you can enter both draws. Simply go to the website, click through to the entry form, complete and hold thumbs! And even better, we'll send you a reminder via SMS to enter – if you accept the SMS reminder this will cost you R1.50 or you can then enter via the website. Remember that you must enter in the month that you found the lost item - you have until the last day of the month to enter – and the draw is done 14 days after the end of the month.
- Why not just label my item with all my details?
You are then an open target to all kinds of crime, especially identity theft! By using our system the finder can contact you without having access to any of your personal information. Also the unique reward system is a great incentive for people to return your item.
- Can I re use the tags/stickers?
Yes you can use the tags for ‘life’, deactivate, reactivate, and change item details in your tag management system.
- What happens if I lose my stuff?
